On 25th May 2020, George Floyd was killed in Minneapolis.
Mr. Floyd was 46 years old and was killed during an arrest for allegedly using a counterfeit bill.
The circumstances surrounding his death led to protests across the world and a seismic, global shift in not only acknowledging that institutional racism exists but also that white privilege is real.
I believe that this shift will become the foundation for us to build upon as we forge ahead in tackling discrimination in all its forms.
I am a C-suite leader and diversity campaigner with a first career in law and a second career in healthcare.
I am also the mother of a young black man. This makes what happened to George Floyd deeply personal to me.
